We know not everyone immediately sees the benefit of the new community center, but it truly adds elements that our city currently lacks and desperately needs. We have outgrown our current community center; this new facility will provide services and opportunities we simply don’t have today.

More Access & Space
Right now, our gym can only accommodate one activity at a time, and we are consistently full with rentals. This means we have limited open gym time, and when activities do take place, there is little space for spectators or even a designated area for participants to leave their belongings. The new facility will allow for multiple activities to occur simultaneously, improving access for all.

Indoor Walking Track
A year-round, low-impact exercise option—something we don’t have today!

Expanded Fitness Areas
Our weight and cardio area is undersized, and this expansion will allow for a better fitness experience. We will also be able to offer group fitness classes beyond just daytime options for seniors, giving working adults and families more opportunities to participate.

Birthday Parties & Youth Programs
Right now, many people enjoy hosting birthday parties with us during the summer while the pool is open. This facility adds dedicated party space and will allow us to expand youth programming, including arts activities all year round.

Indoor Sports & Practice Space
Our youth sports programs need more room! This facility provides indoor space for soccer and baseball practices amongst other uses, helping meet the high demand.

Child Watch & Indoor Playground
A safe, fun space for kids while parents work out or attend programs—available year-round.

A Place for Teens
For teenagers, it creates a place to meet up with friends, giving them positive options within our community instead of having to leave town to find them or worse, getting in trouble because they are bored.

Event Space for Our Community
Right now, weddings, receptions, showers, and award ceremonies have very few venue options in town. The new center changes that—plus, it gives us room to grow our senior lunch events that are already reaching capacity.

This project isn’t just a new building—it’s about keeping residents engaged, active, and connected. Instead of traveling to other cities, this space brings those services right here to Grain Valley.
